Chess Club

Is your kiddo a chess wizard? Are they just mildly curious about the game? Have they never played before and need to learn the rules? Everyone is welcome! If you have a chess board, bring it. If not, no worries. Just show up and let your kid have some fun while hanging out with friends and developing their critical thinking skills! Currently our players are between the ages of 8 and 15.

Running Club

Get outdoors with your kids for a little fresh air and exercise! We are working on endurance with the goal of perhaps participating in a race later this year. Kids will run a bit, socialize, play, and maybe run a little more! All ability levels welcome including those who prefer to walk. (My own daughter calls it "walking club." 😜)

Celebrate growth, milestones, and new beginnings at our Blossom Graduation Celebration! This special event honors TK, Kindergarten, 5th grade, and 8th grade students from across the Tri-Community homeschool community. Families and friends are invited to join us for a joyful ceremony featuring student recognitions, certificates, special performances, and plenty of opportunities for celebration and connection.

Whether your child is stepping into elementary school or moving on to middle or high school, this event is a beautiful way to acknowledge their journey and all they’ve accomplished.

Kids Summer Art and Nature Camp

Swing Dance Classes for Kids

Help build your kids confidence not only in dancing, but in life! Classes will be taught by Tricia Opdahl, who has extensive experience in both dance and teaching. This is an 8-week limited series opportunity. No prior dance experience is required. While this course is aimed at middle and high schoolers, reach out if you have younger kiddos and are interested. Often times, younger kids have more open minds than older ones, so it might be worth trying to see how they do!

Brittany has started a Google photo album where we can start leaving our photos so there isn't a crunch at the end of the year and the kids can start planning early. Even if you are not planning to participate in the Yearbook Club, please let us know if you are interested in having your kids IN the yearbook! The kids can start collecting photos of your children and you can start adding photos to the album as well!

Autism Awareness and Acceptance Fundraiser

We are big fans of Studio Ghibli around here! The theater is small, but so far we have booked out half of it. Come join us and start your Thanksgiving break with a fun, family-friendly movie! Candy Shop Field Trip

My kids have been attending the annual Halloween Wrightwood Library Show basically since birth! At this point, it's tradition. It is almost always a magic show of some sort and lasts about an hour. The Wild Robot Movie

We (the Scharfes) are planning to go see the new Wild Robot movie. If anyone would like to join us, my kids would love to turn this into a homeschool movie day. The Wild Robot movie is based on a FANTASTIC book by the same name that my kids absolutely loved. The movie is animated and rated PG and has great reviews. Ticketmaster fees can be a nightmare, so I'm putting together a group to get discounted tickets to shows I want to see next year at Pantages. Here are the options:

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Thursday, March 7, evening  - $65.60/ticket

I'm assuming the shows start around 7 pm and probably end around 10 pm, so they will be late nights! Ideally, I am aiming to get tickets at the front of the balcony (section D). If you'd like to go, 20% will be due mid-July, then the remaining 80% is due 60 days before the show. Let me know if you'd like to be reserve seats for either show!

Over the past couple months, kids from our community have been taking art and entrepreneur classes with Growing Up Rooted. Come enjoy a hot cocoa bar and cookies while you admire their masterpieces and shop for christmas gifts from these budding entrepreneurs. Items for sale will include lip balms, magic wands, greeting cards, bracelets, perfume, and dehydrated fruit.  

Homeschool Craft Class Starts

This crafting class will feature items such as wall decor, candles, lip gloss, and sugar scrubs as well as holiday crafts. Girls will spend 1.5 hours crafting followed by 30 minutes of fun and games.  

Wrightwood Library's Halloween Magic Show

Wrightwood Elementary's Fall Festival

This event will be fun for the whole community! We may homeschool, but we can still support our local school district while having a great time!

Kids Dance Classes Start

Cost: $60 for 6 weeks

All classes are 7 weeks in length and will include a dance recital the final week. Registration fees are $65 per person. Payment can be made in person or by mail. We currently accept cash or check. Bonita Falls Hike

Bonita Falls near Lytle Creek is probably the closest impressive waterfall to us here in the Tri-Community. The last part is a bit steep, but it is less than one mile each way making it a relatively easy hike. Message for more info regarding time and meeting spot! 

Back to School Ice Cream Social

Teen and Adult Swing Classes Start

Beginner swing classes from 3 to 4 pm. Intermediate swing classes from 4 to 5 pm. Registering with a partner is not required, but is encouraged. Payment can be made in person or by mail. Homeschool Skypark Adventure Day

Come experience all that SkyPark at Santa's Village has to offer. Our educational trips include activities that allow children of all ages to explore our unique, biodiverse environment. Join us for a special SkyPark Adventure Day for Homeschooled students and participate in hands-on attractions while enjoying the wonder of nature. This is learning beyond the bounds of the classroom; this is SkyPark. (Discounted tickets only available at the door - bike rentals are 50% off all day at the Bike Shop as well!)⁠

Table Mountain Camping Trip
